v1.1

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how Land of Profits Ltd ("Land of Profits", "we", "us") uses them on our platform at www.landofprofits.com and associated member portals, and how you can control your cookie preferences.

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data more broadly. By using our platform, you agree to the use of strictly necessary cookies. For all other cookies, we will ask for your consent through our cookie banner before placing them on your device.

1What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, smartphone or tablet) when you visit a website or use a web-based application. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners.

Alongside cookies, we may use similar technologies such as:

  • Local storage & session storage — browser-based storage that persists your session state or preferences without using HTTP cookies;
  • Pixel tags / web beacons — invisible 1×1 images embedded in web pages or emails that signal when content has been viewed;
  • Device fingerprinting — collection of browser and device attributes used solely for fraud detection and security purposes on our platform.

All references to "cookies" in this policy include these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.

Session vs Persistent Cookies

Session cookies are temporary and are deleted from your device when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them. The duration of each cookie we set is listed in Section 4.

2How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Platform operation: To keep you logged in, maintain your session across pages, protect against CSRF attacks and ensure the platform works correctly;
  • Preference memory: To remember your language choice, currency display, filter settings and other platform preferences so you don't need to set them on every visit;
  • Security and fraud prevention: To detect and prevent fraudulent activity, unauthorised access and abuse of the platform;
  • Analytics and improvement: To understand how Members use the platform, which features are most used, where people encounter difficulties, and to measure the effectiveness of product changes;
  • Marketing and advertising: With your consent, to personalise our own marketing messages and measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on third-party platforms.

We never use cookies to build profiles for sale to third parties, to serve ads unrelated to property investment, or to track you across websites that are not operated by Land of Profits without your explicit consent.

3Types of Cookies We Use

We categorise all cookies on our platform into four types. Only strictly necessary cookies are placed without your consent. All other types require your affirmative agreement through our cookie banner or the preference panel below.

4Cookies We Set

The table below lists all cookies currently set by the Land of Profits platform, their purpose, duration and whether they are first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by a partner service).

We update this table whenever we add, remove or change a cookie. If you notice a discrepancy between the cookies set on your device and this list, please contact us at privacy@landofprofits.com so we can investigate and update the policy.

5Manage Your Cookie Preferences

You can update your cookie preferences at any time using the interactive panel below. Your choices are saved in the lop_cookie_consent cookie for 12 months. Changes take effect on your next page load.

Withdrawing Consent

You can withdraw consent for any optional cookie category at any time using the panel above or by clearing your browser cookies. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before you withdrew it. Note that rejecting optional cookies will not affect your ability to use the platform's core features.

6Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our platform are set by third-party service providers. These providers have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to read:

Provider Purpose Category Their policy
Google Analytics Platform usage measurement (anonymised) Analytics policies.google.com
Mixpanel Product analytics (pseudonymised) Analytics mixpanel.com/legal
Meta (Facebook) Ad effectiveness & retargeting Marketing facebook.com/privacy
Google Ads Ad conversion measurement Marketing policies.google.com
LinkedIn B2B ad measurement Marketing linkedin.com/legal
Intercom In-app support chat widget Functional intercom.com/legal

We contractually require all third-party providers to handle data in accordance with applicable data protection law and our instructions. Third-party cookies are only placed on your device after you have given consent for their category via our cookie banner or preference panel.

Important — Third-Party Controls

Rejecting a cookie category in our preference panel prevents us from setting those third-party cookies going forward, but it does not delete cookies that may already have been set by those providers, or prevent those providers from setting cookies if you visit their own platforms directly. To fully opt out, you may also need to use the providers' own opt-out tools (e.g. Google Analytics opt-out, Meta Ad Preferences).

7Browser Controls

In addition to using our preference panel, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies. Below are direct links to cookie management instructions for the most common browsers:

Browser How to manage cookies
Google Chrome support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
Mozilla Firefox support.mozilla.org — Cookies & storage
Apple Safari support.apple.com — Manage cookies in Safari
Microsoft Edge support.microsoft.com — Delete cookies in Edge
Opera help.opera.com — Web preferences
Samsung Internet samsung.com/uk/support — Cookies

Please be aware that blocking all cookies — including strictly necessary cookies — will prevent the Land of Profits platform from functioning correctly. You will not be able to log in or use member portal features if session and authentication cookies are blocked.

Industry opt-out tools

For broader control over interest-based advertising across many websites, you can use industry opt-out tools:

8Do Not Track

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing activity not be tracked. There is currently no universally agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.

At present, our platform does not respond differently to DNT signals. However, you can control all non-essential cookies directly through our preference panel or your browser settings as described in Section 7.

We will revisit this position if a widely-adopted, legally-recognised DNT standard emerges.

9Changes to This Policy

We update this Cookie Policy when we add new cookies, change existing ones or when our practices change. When we make material updates, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page;
  • Display a notice on the cookie banner asking you to review and reconfirm your preferences;
  • For significant changes, send an email notification to registered Members.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Previous versions of this policy are available on request by contacting privacy@landofprofits.com.
